First and foremost, to the sound guy who works at the bar, I’m sure the bands know what they’re doing, you don’t need to hover over them.  Also, seriously? Did you seriously tell them to cut five minutes off their set? I mean, did you really do that, or am I imagining it?

To the bartender.  You weren’t mean.  You weren’t nice, but you weren’t mean.

The show was great, MZRoF is even better live than in the recordings I’ve heard on the internet.  They played a 40 minute set, with a keyboard, bass and guitar, along with a few programed drum loops in some box or pedal or magical jar of pixie dust or something.  I got a few photos, maybe when I get the film developed, one or two of them will come out nice, and I’ll scan them in somehow.

Snidley Potter

I almost forgot about this.  I was on my way back from Campus.  At the West Portal Muni station, I saw one of the posters on the far platform.  It was an advertisement for the newest Harry Potter movie.  The one with Hermione and Ron, and a couple others lining the side, and in the back, off a little ways, turned to one side, but looking toward the front of the poster, is Mr. Potter.  Only, in much the same manner as Marcel Duchamp’s Mona Lisa with Mustache and Beard. Only much more sinister.  It was a veritable super villain mustache and beard, so incredibly sinister.  It made my day.

Drinkin’ Wine and Laughin’ At Jerks

On BART today, I was sitting near four guys.  Two were on one side of the aisle, and I was on the other side, with two others.  Even though they could have all sat together.  But that’s not the point.  They were pretending to be worldly wine connoisseurs.  They were discussing the years and brands they liked, and if they can get a case of this or a case of that.  The few brands I recognized were the wine equivalents of Milwaukee’s Best and Natural Light.  But they were talking about them as if they were the greatest, rarest wines, ever.  Then they began talking about movies like Scary Movie 4, Not Another Teen Movie and what have you.  I guess it would be stranger if you were there with me.
