Bear with me

29 May, 2007 · Leave a Comment

I originally posted this, which included a photo of my chapbook cover for Unresolved Issues of Equine Fetishism. Today, I was reading Feministing
when I came across a link to the Benetton Group who have a series of ads, including this. I will let the photo speak for itself.

Rather than reposting the videos, I will just link to the post at Feministe.

I regret nothing…

26 May, 2007 · Leave a Comment

I have not been posting much. I have been working hard, and it is really hot out. I am trying to get organized for my move to California, but not succeeding. Does anyone want all the crap I have that is too much trouble to take with me? Seriously…

Anyway, dancing tomorrow, and potential kayaking today, if Karl is back relatively soon, and still wants to go. Most likely, he will not be back in time. I would have gone with the campground people, but I don’t particularly care to spend time with half the people in the group, and I missed them by about 5 minutes, anyway… Send me an e mail and we’ll go while there is still water in the river.

2 in the morning UPDATE:  Karl came through.  Went down part of the upper Pemi.  My hands are dyed black from the gloves.  I bled my own blood.  But I did not do as bad as I thought, for the first time out this year.  I think I banged my leg harder than I thought though.  We’ll see later this morning, I suppose.  Anyhow.

Progress Report-Final PSU Days

16 May, 2007 · Leave a Comment

Well.  Finished my last final for PSU.  As in, ever.  Have dinner and chapbook exchanging tonight at Liz’s.  There should be about 7 extra copies of Unresolved Issues of Equine Fetishism, and 8 extra copies of the adventures of rainbow unicorn smileyface.  If you want one, e mail me (crebele (at) gmail (dot) com).  My other chapbook project is not currently underway.  Someday there will be about 20 copies of that.  All of these are limited distrobution to people who know me, or read this and ask.  They are not being sold anywhere, or produced ever again (unless you pay me money).

Lunch today will probably involve some or all of the following: scallions, broccoli, tofu, quinoa, tomatoes, and some sort of assorted medley of herbs and spices.  I may just eat a raw onion, instead, though, as I really don’t feel like cooking.  Thoughts, comments, or suggestions on the best method for consuming an entire, raw, onion?

OBERIU Paper

11 May, 2007 · Leave a Comment

CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION
Preface
Upon rediscovery, in the later half of the 20th Century, the works of the Oberiu have been given the absurdist label, grouping them with the post-WWII Western European authors collected under the same label.  Although a cursory reading will show some similarities, particularly the peculiar disjointed feel of the writings, there is a great deal separating the two bodies of work.  Using Martin Esslin’s notion of the Theatre of the Absurd as a gateway, I will explore the works of the Oberiu through close readings of selected works, as well as considering critical writings on the Oberiu published previously.
