I went over to the Franklin Street Universalist Unitarian (or Unitarian Universalist?) Church for a poetry reading by David Leese and Mark Shapiro (OK, I am terrible with names. I will fix them later). The parentheticals in the title was a tongue-in-cheek description of a Shapiro poem, which will likely become the title of my chapbook for APW. There was other stuff I was going to write about, but I forgot it on the walk back. I think it had to do with poems or something.

Went over to SFSU today, meet with Paul Hoover, got some detailed info on the program, and spoke with people who are in said program. One such person, “M,” so as to politely omit her actual name, is from Hudson, NH. There is a coincidence. I sat in on the Contemporary World Poetry course, too. About a 3 hour class, where we discussed Rilke and Celan, and their approach to the Open, as well as bringing in a bunch of other stuff, including Heidegger. Tonight, there is a reading at the Unitarian Church on Franklin St, and tomorrow, there is one in Golden Gate Park. I am going, if I can find my way. So, who will come here and visit, when I move?

I forgot to find out if I could borrow a digital camera, so there will be no San Francisco Photo Blogging. My hostel has wireless in the lounge, and outside, the streets smell like urine. It is probably the best thing ever. You should come out here sometime.
I took a walk around Mission and Market streets today, going all the way between 4th St and 16th. Ate at a place right around the block from here, which was less than 10 dollars for lunch, absolutely vegan, hip, and tasty. Also, I hate airplanes. But I digress. Tomorrow, off to SFSU, to meet with Paul Hoover, Grad Studies, and Financial Aid. Saturday, I visit Trish, Julie and the kids, may take a swim if the weather is warm enough (almost 70 today).
